Joshua Zirkzee, the 22-year-old striking sensation tearing it up in Italy with Bologna, is in the international spotlight, juggling the choice between playing for the Netherlands or Nigeria.
The football world is abuzz, especially now that Dutch manager Ronald Koeman has tossed Zirkzee’s name into the mix for the Netherlands’ upcoming matches.
The Oranje’s provisional squad list just got a jolt of excitement with the addition of Zirkzee. This isn’t just any call-up; it’s a strategic play by Koeman, especially given Zirkzee’s recent musings over his national team future.
Having voiced his dilemma about choosing between the Super Eagles and the Dutch, this inclusion could be a game-changer.
The Bologna forward’s national team allegiance has been a hot topic. “Choosing Nigeria? It’s not easy to say. If the Netherlands aren’t calling, then I’ll choose Nigeria,” Zirkzee remarked, acknowledging the fierce competition in both squads.
